We pray for God's refining fire to renew us.
God answers.

These are photos of our church. Above is last night after lightning struck the education building. The fire department worked for hours keeping it contained so it didn't spread to our sanctuary and surrounding businesses.

My next question is: Now what?
I don't mean that in a petulant child kind of way who whines after you've take their toy away, "Now what am I supposed to do?"
I mean that in the expectant movie-goer kind of way who sees the story line come to a head, and it's time for the hero to step in and save the day, "Now what is HE going to do?"
I'm excited. I'm not happy that this happened, but it's so big for our little church family that we are likely to see some Big-God moments. And THAT makes me happy.
Refiner's fire, my heart's one desire is to be holy,
Set apart for you my master, ready to do your will.

I was so sorry to see the news last night. Immanuel has a very special place in my heart since it was the first church my husband and I attended when we were first married. As I looked at the pictures, I flashed back to my Sunday School class 24 years ago today. So many memories, such good friends. Praying for you all.
So happy to see the expectation you have found in the midst of the ashes. God has great plans for His children and no fire can snuff that out.
